Hydrosol alginate is a regular set, dust-free hydrocolloid with improved tear strength designed to offer unparalleled accuracy around the margins of the tooth preparation, enhancing comfort and efficiency for dental professionals.
Key Features & Unique Selling Points (USPs)
Improved Tear Resistance for Enhanced Durability
One of the most important qualities of any impression material is tear resistance. Hydrosol features improved tear resistance, ensuring the material remains intact and resilient during removal. This enhancement reduces the risk of distortion or tearing, preserving the accuracy of the captured details. Improved tear resistance also makes the Hydrocolloid Hydrosol more durable and less likely to fail, even in deep undercuts or under strain.
High Elasticity
Elastic recovery is the ability of Hydrosol to return to its original shape after being deformed inside the mouth with negligible permanent deformation. Since hydrosol has a higher elastic recovery, the clinician will achieve greater precision in the final restoration.
Regular Set for Optimal Working Time
The regular set formulation of Hydrosol provides an ideal balance between working time and setting time. It allows dental professionals ample time to mix, place, and adjust the impression tray comfortably before the material begins to set. This makes it perfect for routine impressions, ensuring no rush to complete the procedure.
Precision and Detail Reproduction
Despite being a softer material, Hydrosol can capture highly accurate details of the oral structures, including tooth morphology/margins, gingival contours, and soft tissue impressions. Hydrosol’s ability to maintain its integrity during setting and removal ensures that no critical details are lost, providing a foundation for highly accurate restorations or appliances.
Pleasant Fruity flavour
The pleasant flavour makes it suitable for use in pediatric patients.
Dust-Free Formula for a Cleaner Experience
Traditional alginate powders can release dust during mixing, creating a mess and potentially posing health risks. The dust-free version eliminates this problem, offering a cleaner and more hygienic environment for dental professionals and patients.
Ease of Use
Hydrosol is formulated for easy mixing and handling, with a smooth, creamy consistency that makes it easy to load into trays.
Biocompatibility
Like traditional alginate, Hydrosol is biocompatible and safe for use in the mouth.
Unmatched Value for Money
Hydrosol provides exceptional performance at an affordable price, making it a cost-effective choice for dental practices. Its combination of high-quality features and accessibility makes it an ideal option for both general dentistry and specialized practices.
Directions of use
Before dispensing the alginate powder, the sealed container should be shaken to loosen the powder
· Measure Water: Use distilled water at room temperature (approximately 25°C). Note: Higher temperatures of the mixing water will shorten the setting time and total working time
· Add Powder: Measure the appropriate amount of Hydrosol powder based on the desired volume of the impression. For optimal results, 16 g of powder (2 scoops) is mixed with 38 ml of water.
· Mixing: Gradually add the alginate powder to the water while stirring continuously with the spatula. Mix for about 20 seconds until a smooth, homogenous, and bubble-free consistency is achieved.
Note: The optimal technique for producing a smooth mixture is to smooth the material against the sides of the mixing bowl when mixing.
· Load the material and Seat the tray in the patient's mouth.
· Leave the impression material in the patient's mouth for the recommended time, according to the instructions on the package.
· Gently remove the impression tray from the patient's mouth.
· Allow the impression to dry completely before pouring the dental stone or plaster to create a model.
Note: For better results pour the cast as soon as impression making is done.
